"Median: a paved or planted strip dividing a highway into lanes according to direction of travel."

The median reminds me to pick a direction.

I could go North or South, East or West, or, I could just sit there – in the middle.

“Hell” is operating from the middle – neither picking “this” nor “that”.

Sometimes we choose the middle because it’s “safe”. We don’t have to pick a side and risk the responsibility of making a decision. We think it’s “safe” because we don’t have to deal with the consequences of choosing a side or a direction.

There is a consequence, however: you don’t move forward.

Everyone who is having / doing / being more in life right now made a decision. They got off the “median.”

“But what if I decide and it doesn’t work out?”

What if it does? You’ll never know until you get off the median.

Choose. If you don’t like it, you’re always free to choose another direction.

The point is, decide.

Everything you want is on the other side of a decision.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading “Follow the Signs.” It is written in a thoughtful, easy to read format with tips on how to navigate through Life. I appreciated that the book did not use jargon specific to any self-help or spiritual beliefs systems – just real insights.

Each sign (section) gives insightful strategies as we drive along the road of Life. James has a wise wisdom for taking everyday traffic signs and bringing metaphysical meanings to guide us. Now whenever I pass a sign, I will think of his tips.

I particularly enjoyed the Work in Progress and the Median sections. These are reminders that I am truly a work in progress, and I must not get caught on the safety of the median of life. Reading this book was the boost I needed to step into the next chapter of my Life. Delightful to read. Thank you Rev. UP!
